I came to this thread to see some cool cars, not to listen to silly stories... Can we please try and stay on topic? Thank you... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

The last car I bought was a Buick LaSabre (don't laugh). I went into the dealers show room looking casual, walking around looking at the various cars (I had already picked out one in the their new car lot). When a sales person finally approached me I told him about the one I wanted and the MSRP price on the window. He quoted me a slightly lower price than the MSRP. I asked him for a pen and paper, took the MSRP, multiplied it by 0.845, which was the price they paided for it and added $750 for their profit. At first they wouldn't take my offer, fine OK, then I explained to them I knew that it was near the end of the month, the end of the quarter, and the factory inventory bonus time was coming up, as well as their having to make another inventory interest payment on the unsold vehicle. They asked me if I had ever been in the business, and I joked back at them...who knows? The sales manager said he would give me my price if I bought the car there and then...I said OK, and we shook hands on it. When they came out with the paperwork and started to fill in the financing agreement, I pulled out my cheque book and signed a cheque for the entire amount. The saleman was in shock, because there went his entire commission and most of the dealers profit, because they thought they'd get their money back through finance commissions. Oh well...it felt nice to screw the screwers. They didn't even get the sales tax because I was taking it to my home state (lower tax), where the DMV would collect the taxes. Mind you I had to wait a few days for the cheque to clear, but that was a minor convienence after saving thousands of dollars. Account frozen... |

Way to go !! Can you imagine all of the times they took advantage of other people and did not care at all? LETS BEGIN IN 2010 |

Rolls Royce Phantom That's a wonderful grand car, the Royce. I once had a ride in one with Mel Lastman, who became an outstanding Mayor for the City of Toronto. What the picture doesn't show is how gorgeous that interior leatherwork is, or the 35 coats of clear-coat handrubbed paint that makes the deepest finish I've ever seen on a car. You could fall right into it! LOL |

Rolls Royce Phantom Yep, that's it. Mel Lastman's Royce was sky blue with light blue blue leatherwork...and talk about hand-stitched! Gorgeous! Thanks for the link. :) |

Another car with a beautiful hand-stiched leather interior. There's a polished burlwood dash in it that screams "Luxury!". :) |
