Message 516821 - Posted: 12 Feb 2007, 22:50:20 UTC - in response to Message 516760.

My CPU has changed to some ridiculous long name:

AuthenticAMD
AMD Athlon(tm) XP 2200+ [fpu vme de pse tsc msr pae mce cx8 apic sep mtrr pge mca cmov pat pse36 mmx fxsr sse syscall mmxext 3dnowext 3dnow ts]

What's all that stuff in the brackets good for?

They are doing some testing because some projects do not like some processors. They are trying to see if they can filter the units going to those processors.
Of course first they have to see if they can find those processors.
Seti is not one of those projects but the testing is in Boinc.

5.8.11 is what is installed. What I noticed is when BOINC is trying to download a file to the computer then fails I receive an error messege. I will abort the transfer then update again then the down load will succeed.

Has anybody else had this happen to them

Some of your units are still being returned with version 5.8.8. Apparently you missed some of your computers? Could that be the problem?

You're running BOINC 5.4.9

You could upgrade to 5.8.11. usually the latest is best.

Enhanced 5.13 are the units you download from Berkeley.

Best go to crunching boards for more info.

OK, good tip. does it help you? How ?

I sold my 1941 Willys Jeep for $300.00. At the time I was glad to get rid of it, now it would be worth ALOT more!

God we SUCK ! I still have my 75 Jeep CJ 5 and my moms 65 poppy red Mustang. When I bought my wife a 85 SL for $40,000 the Mustang was worth $2,000. I GAVE away the perfect looking SL, and the Mustang is worth about $8,000 now. I suck ! You suck ! We ALL suck !
