Hi to everybody in outer space.

Does anybody know good internet pages or german/english books where I can learn more about radio waves, radio singnals, radio communications(practical use) and radio astrnomy?
I know I could use google, but the amount of results is so huge that I like to see your favorites. :-)

I know a bit of astronomy and telescopes (no beginner)
Thx for your suggestions!

It's a very vast subject. I have about 25 books here both english and french
but mostly theorical. For a start, if you whant to understand radio you will
need do learn the basic, the foundations. Magnetism, electricity, alternative
currant, induction, etc. After that it depends how far you want to go. I will
have a look on the net and try to find a complete but simple web site about
radio waves and communication. I'll be back.

EDIT // I strongly recommand this links. It covers all the basics
very well and it's a pretty good starting point. Trust me on this.

Here is a book I don't have but seems interesting.
It seem to be covering pretty well the subject.

Thank you for your fast responds. I'll check the pages out and study them.I still know a bit about electric, magnetism. But the pages seems to be good to enter this mater. (I attend a grammar school with the "Leistungskurs" Physik (I don't know how it is called else where).)

If I have a Question I'll post here ;-).

Because it is very late in Germany, I'll be down for the night ;-).

cu and thanks for the links. I'll enter them deeper tomorrow!

I found another very good one "excellent" pdf format

Ok so read both links I have posted and then you'll be a
specialist for free...

I resume the links

@Petit Soleil
The links are realy good and very interessting matter. Our recommanded link shows the history wich I find is everytime an significant point. Because one can see the development of radio,... . Somehow I'm missing how the components realy work, but I think in this piont my physic book can help me.

Basti

I think I'll manage to get out how it works.

Very well. History is very interresting. As for componants I am not sure if you are talking about electronic componants (resistor, capacitor, transistor, etc) or general radio componants (Transmitter, receiver, antenna, etc)

In facts it is all linked. To understand how a receivers work you need to know how oscilators work, and to understand how oscilators work you need to know how filters work, to understand how filters work you need to know how capacitors work, etc.

In any case do not hesitate to ask. I and others who knows radio well would be glad to help.
