Chicago Tribune Article: A number of United Airlines employees spotted an unidentified flying object hovering over Chicago's O'hare International Airport. The above article appeared on January 1, 2007. There was so much response that the journalist wrote an editorial about the reaction in Sunday's(7 Jan '07) paper. Keith Olbermann Countdown on MSNBC via YouTube I'd like to know why there aren't any eyewitness interviews in the press, and it's difficult to believe that nobody snapped a shot with a cell phone camera. Cover-up...? The object did not show up on radar. Maybe the military wanted to test how good their stealth technology is, so they went to a busy airport, that would have multiple radar sensors, an see if their secret new stealth aircraft would show up on the sensors. thoughts...? |

From the Chicago Tribune Editorial: The FAA is not conducting a further investigation, Cory said. The theory is the sighting was caused by a "weather phenomenon," she said. Gee..what a shock. They aren't going to bother to investigate it further??? Chalk it up to a " weather phenomenon "?? The HELL you say!!!! Puh-leze. Why bother to look into what it might have been, when just handing out a crappy " explanation " is so much easier? Here's an audio interview by Jeff Rense with Peter Davenport, Director of the National UFO Reporting Center, and an unnamed United Airline employees who saw the UFO. I'm not sure if I like Rense's tone or interview style, but it is good to hear an eyewitness account of the incident. Listening to the witness's description, it is starting to sound more and more like a secret military aircraft. In his description of the object with a clear gray outline on top and a haziness in the bottom of the object sounds like some type of visual cloaking device for a military aircraft. Perhaps this cloaking device actually works well in most conditions, so that nobody even notices the aircraft(invisible). In the conditions of this sighting, dusk with a completely overcast sky, perhaps the cloaking system had difficulty maintaining invisibility. With blue(day) or black(night) sky conditions, the craft has no trouble maintaining invisibility, but cloud cover and difficult lighting conditions may cause the cloaking system to malfunction. Perhaps this is the reason that so many of these sightings have the similar descriptions. I can remember from a few years ago, a computer science professor describing efforts to produce such a dynamic(or active) camouglage system, but for ground systems, not airborne. Why would such a secretive military aircraft be in such a public place, a major commercial airport? Well, I have an answer for that. It would make sense for military observation aircraft to monitor traffic at a major airport if there are terrorist threats to commercial aviation. Eager to hear everyone's thoughts... |

Also check out NPR's interview with Jon Hilkevitch, the journalist who wrote the Chicago Tribune article on the O'hare UFO sighting. And here are two eyewitness accounts as reported to the National UFO Reporting Center: One by a taxi mechanic and the other by a management employee. |

...I saw a ghost once, does that count? However, that could have been condensation after the water heater blew up, but my neighbor saw the Virgin Mary on the wall near by so who's to say. Account frozen... |

Damn pie tins fell out the cargo door of my 152. Yea, the mechanics forgot to re-safety wire the latch the last time I had it in to rotate the air in the tires. Hehe. IAS - Where Space Is Golden! |
