Message 493862 - Posted: 30 Dec 2006, 16:38:49 UTC - in response to Message 493843.

He is dead, never mind!
His death does not change anything.
Now some people think that he's a martyr.
There are still followers of his policy.

I don't think too many will consider him a martyr.

In any case, some nice things about martyr's include:

1) that martyr's don't rule dictatorships.
2) that martyr's don't continue to spout trash talk.
3) that martyr's are ultimately left with nothing when they have no one to remember them.

His death means that many Iraqi's need no longer fear that his followers can re-install him as the dictator with a vengeance. Now the only thing they have to fear is their fellow Iraqi's. Good on them, gotta love an fanatic with a gun. Eye for an eye, all that sh!t...

They now blame America because it's easier than blaming themselves...

Yes, we can stop dwelling on that git and get something useful done in the Iraq region. Useful enough to stop the crap in that region overflowing to the rest of the world. Therefor allowing humanity to move on and not dwell on that git ..... etc etc

No training required, just a little bit of rational thinking salted with a dry sense of humour.

Only too happy to entertain you R/B.

The ONE concrete thing that America has succeeded in doing in the Middle East is:
They have ensured the moving of the Iranian influenced (if not controlled) border of Iran to within
shouting range of the border with Israel.
Well done, America. Good shot!
As a bye-note, it has also ensured a healthy trade for the makers of its own body-bags.
Just ONE more American life is not worth what the future holds in Iraq.

3) that martyr's are ultimately left with nothing when they have no one to remember them.

Let me say that many people today - and I am amongst them - hold Friday 13th 1307 to be a day of
solemn remembrance. For it was on that day that Jacques de Molay was Martyred.
His Martyrdom is remembered even today by people who have no idea who he was or how Friday 13th
ever became to be known as 'unlucky'.
BTW ... the Vatican has recently pardoned Jacques de Molay and apologised for having him burned at the
stake.
Big deal! ... that will not bring back a Godly and righteous man.
So much for Civilisation.
Can you think of an animal who would treat one of its own in the way we treat our own?

Nuts, whole hazel nuts, Cadbury's take then and they cover them in chocolate.

The best chocolate in the world - Cadbury's, especially with the nuts.

Give me other chocolate to prove me wrong!

Maybe it will finally get Israel off of its high horse and make them start to actually try and get along with thier neighbors. After all, as several people have pointed out, you included, they are the new guy in town and the others were forced to give up their own lands for them to have some. Maybe if Israel actually tried to be friendly with its neighbors, the World would be a more peaceful place! And don't give me any that 'they have tried before stuff'. They need to keep trying until it works!!!! They are not moving, neither are their neighbors! They either figure out a way to get along, or they continue on the path they are on and get the rest of the World in another World War.

I understood your meaning Bodley, I was just trying to make a positive out of it! If Israel can't make friends with anyone, then maybe they need to be cut loose from the US's purse strings, before they start WWIII! The US seems to be Israel's most vocal advocate, maybe it is time the US backed off a bit and FORCED Israel to deal with its neighbors! And yes even Iran. Although Iran may soon have a new spokesperson. Admenijhad, or however you spell it, seems to be on the hot seat with his comments lately. The true Leaders of Iran are starting to say they would like to be more friendly to the rest of the World, and what's his name is not following that.

So far, that's OK ...
The fact is that Mahmoud Ahmedinejad ... is in power.
The Mullahs put him there. (or, allowed him to be put there)
More than any Ahmedinejad in this World, the people who do NOT want Israel around ... are the Mullahs!
What you say might be correct in the sense of a smoke-screen. But when that smoke clears, the
heirs to Ayatollah Khomeini will show their true colours ...
Are you ? ... are ANY of us willing to risk that?
Dunno about you ... but I have my doubts ...

First, who are the "true Leaders of Iran"? Is "Leaders of Iran" a title?

Second, you do realize realize that Israel isn't the one doing the attacking, right? Israel has responded very forcefully to attacks made on Israel. Should be an easy lesson, don't attack Israel and you don't get hurt. They just want to be left alone.

Third, you do realize that the official position of those neighbors of Israel is the destrucion of Israel, right? So just how do you propose that they approach those neighbors? Can you offer a strategy that can possibly help with this dilema?

Let's say that your neighbors have declared that they want you dead and have even shot you a couple of times. How will you approach them and discuss the situation?
