I have 13 computers using win98se and 1 that uses XP Pro. I have no problems with boinc 4.05 on the XP pro machine. However, on the 13 computers using the new 4.06 I have this problem where as soon as the first workunits are completed after installing 4.06, I cannot get any more work units to work on. If I reinstall 4.06 completely, I can get another work unit and it does complete and I can upload it properly but no more work units are downloaded. I have let the program do it's thing after uploading a work unit to see if it will automatically download the next work unit, but no it doesn't. I have used "Update" to force feed a work unit, but no it won't work. It seems the only sure way to get another work unit is to completely reinstall 4.06 each time and this clearly is not the way to go. Any ideas from anyone. Has anyone experienced this same condition. I have not seen it mentioned on the forums. thanks in advance. George Poland |

George, I had to uninstall 4.06 and reinstall to get it to work right. I think it was because I failed to Unzip my files into the correct directory. But after putting them in the Boinc program file along with everything else that was in there already, it started working with no problems since yesterday. For some reason that I can't figure out 4.06 cannot connect to the proper computer. I did notice that there were some duplicate computer entries with zeros in the credit and RAC values. I merged those with the other computers of the same name. It is late now, after midnight here in Arizona, so am going to hit the sack George Poland > > http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/boinc_alpha/download/boinc_4.06_windows_intelx86.exe > > |
