Yes, Seti has problems with uploading. You get an HTTP error or HTTP error 403 when you try to upload work that is crunched.

No, we do not know why this is, but a good guess is that either the upload server has a full disk, has a dismounted disk or that it has some other problems.

No, it probably won't be fixed until Monday morning. This Monday morning is not your morning, per se. It's after 9am Berkeley, California, time. So that is UTC minus 7 hours.

There is no need to blame BOINC for this as most of the other projects (some 35 of them) are running smoothly. It is a Seti problem.

You don't need to do anything. BOINC will try and try again to upload the file or files. If you are on dial up and Seti is your only project, you may want to suspend your network option in Boinc Manager.

No need to stress, no need to panic, no need to detach and reattach, no need to reset the project, it's NOT YOUR computer that is at fault.

Just keep an eye out on Seti's front page and/or Seti's Technical News for news updates.

Seti seems to have found the problem and fixed it. Do know that the upload server will be overwhelmed for the next hour or more by everyone trying to upload all their results.

So please still have patience.

At least they proved me wrong. :-)

From the front page:

October 15, 2006
We are temporarily halting the project as we're bringing the upload server back online. This will affect both uploads and downloads until we have the server back in working order.

Seti Classic was closed end of last year. First, stop running the old Seti software. Delete from your PC (control panel, add/remove sotware).
Then you will need to do the following:

1. Create a password on this website if not done already
2. Install Boinc.
3. Open Boinc Manager.
4. In the toolbar select "Projects" and then "Attach to project"
5. Fill in the project URL for Boinc/Seti, which is
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu
6. Choose the "Use existing account" option
7. Fill in your Boinc/Seti e-mail address and your Boinc/Seti password
8. You should now be attached to the project

If after that you still need some help, please come back.
Read the News at the homepage
Have a look at the Technical News
Look if your question is not answered at the Boinc Wiki

Best greetings, Thierry
