Instead of pictures that stretch the thread automatically, you could of course offer all of these as links. So people have a choice if they want to load the pictures, or not. |

Fighting is still very much focussed by the IDF planning to reach up to the sourth shore of the Litani River, a strategic line that is very defensible on account of the river itself as a terrain incursion obstabcle. You can see that air strikes are being used to soften the area's resistence. I believe that the IDF will then swing northeast, building on its current north-east salient, taking as much position as they can north-east along the line of the Litani River as they can. If they get far enough north before a truce is forced on them, the IDF will have cut off both Tyre and Beirut from Syria and will have its own threatening high ground against Syria north of the UN monitored zone. |

Some people sure do seem to have a somewhat strange obsession with war... Nothing personal, just an observation... ;) It may not be 1984 but George Orwell sure did see the future . . . |

Instead of pictures that stretch the thread automatically, you could of course offer all of these as links. Or, you can go to your account and change your preferences so that you only see the images if you click a link. On the other, Beets, the resolution is not so great when I do click the links. I guess these have been saved at your PhotoBucket account. Any chance you could link us directly to where you found these? Capitalize on this good fortune, one word can bring you round ... changes. |

Instead of pictures that stretch the thread automatically, you could of course offer all of these as links. I wish I could, Sarge, but no. I use a pay-for software that lets me view the electronic facsimilie versions of the print editions of various newspapers. I view it in .pdf Acrobat reader but the links that I use need the software (DRM, you dig?) I then use irfanview to get a "screenshot" of the pic, save the file and then upload it to Photobucket. About all of the other pics except the latest, I know that they didn't appear on the newpaper's html url site. The latest pic was from the Ottawa Citizen newpaper. I'll put the link below, and maybe you can find the pic somewhere on the site. I didn't see it, myself. http://www.canada.com/ottawacitizen/index.html I hate thread stretching, but I'm just about the only one who posts on this thread. I have to make the pics large enough so that people can read the text, place names and so on. That's why this thread is an exeception to my "No stretching please" policy. |

Some people sure do seem to have a somewhat strange obsession with war... Peace and harmony don't cause headlines... There's no "story" when all is well - simply boring ;) Account frozen... |
