Thats the same sort fo cr*p I'm getting after waiting for over 5 hours to get any work. :(

After I upgraded to version 4.05 and after a few hours of waiting I got some good WU but also some of those messages of download error.

It looks like the error that happened a few days ago.

About 4 hours ago I got 2 WU's. An hour or so ago I decided to increase my cache (to 2 days). I wish I hadn't since now I just keep getting errors & BOINC hanging the PC (it started after changing the cache). Anyway after completing the first WU I get this error:

I have a decent supply of WU's on 11 out of 16 of my machines. If you read the notice on the home page, it says:

"August 27, 2004
A fix to the fcgi (scheduler) code to get around a possible memory leak was causing it to bomb after a number of connections. We have backed out of this change for now and fcgi seems to be working OK at this point."

Even though the date is wrong, at least they are keeping us posted. Keep in mind that the schedulers are being SWAMPED with requests for data right now, as tens of thousands of hungry hosts are asking for work. Berkeley has only a limited amount of bandwidth, and I'm sure it is being taxed to it's limit until most of the hosts get at least a partial cache fill, and stop hammering the schedulers. Strange things happen to TCP packets when you reach the limits of your bandwidth, so just be patient, and the WU's will be delivered. I am running Seti Classic on the 5 machines that are still waiting for BOINC WU's. I will transfer them back to BOINC once I get a few WU's. Take care, all, and Happy Crunching...

Ok, it seems the problem I had with BOINC not resolving the host was something wrong at my end. So I've now sorted that out (no more errors), however the upload starts but no data is transfered. I guess waiting is the only cure (if only us humans were less impatient).
