August 27, 2004 We are currently experiencing a hardware issue with our scheduling server, we expect this issues resolved within the hour. The upgrade to 4.x will start around 11am PDT and will take roughly an hour. Anybody who has any remaining results to report should get them in before the upgrade, after the upgrade you'll need the 4.x clients to report new results, and upgrading to the 4.x client will reset the project on your machine. Roughly 100,000 results are queued up and ready to be sent out after the upgrade, plus the three splitters will be up and running producing work as quickly as possible. For info: 11h.PDT = 18h.UTC Greetings from Belgium. Help Desk: use "Most recent answer first" sorting |

The scheduler isn't replying now and that's why units are not Uploading. That's just a Guess |

If it's still downloading, then it is a bogus one, if it is reporting then not. |

(for more than 20 hours) How can I install the new 4.0x Client when it is not downloadable in the download area? Are they jokeing or am I wrong. Anyhow - I order the same drink they must have had. Ought to be a fine drug! |

I've got 40 WU's ready to report. Haven't been able to report them for at least three days now. That's nearly 200 hours of work. Don't really know what to do. |

I don't know witch download area you're reffering to but it's not where it should be, At the SETI download page. http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/download.php From there you can still download the version 3.20 !!!!! It's not on the main Boinc page either. God.... I think I'll have a look at download.com. We're having so much fun here. -.-. --.- -.. -..- . - .-.-. -.- --... ...-- |

When a project jumps to a further version of software I think the new version should be downloadable on the project website minimum 1 day before. And as you describe - the actual version you can download is 3.20. Should all 60000 active computers download the new version right after the server is transferred to 4.0x? They even didn't say what the exact client version will be. 4.02, 4.03, 4.05 ?? Any idea? I believe the weekend will end in another disaster for seti@boinc .... |

> You can get 4.05 from here > > http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/download.php Thanks. I know I could get it from there. I just wanted to pointed out how rediculous it is. Is it normal that we have to go on another project web site to get the SETI updates ? Surely not ! Why is it that they do everything wrong ? I don't know who is the big boss behind all this but he want CPDN to take over SETI and that's clear as water. -.-. --.- -.. -..- . - .-.-. -.- --... ...-- |
