The (very good) manual for Boinc is the BoincWiki by Paul D. Buck and Friends.

Also quite useful for starting is the MiniFAQ by the TeamACC.

A quick installation guide in the Wiki is here.

Ok, I went everywhere in that post and I've seen everything there, and still can't download any work. I just found it interesting to use my idle computer to scan possible signals from other planets, but I guess I'll just have to quit it. Thanks for zero help.

With a little bit of work from your side, you can make things work that don't work at this moment. Therefore I'll give you some links to sites where you can update your motherboard chipset drivers, videocard or -chip drivers and DirectX.

Motherboard:
AMD Updates and Support
Intel drivers and support
nVidia nForce
SIS
VIA

You can use CPU-Z to find out details about your motherboard. If you run dxdiag in Windows, you can check up on your DirectX version and videocard. (Start->Run, type dxdiag and hit Enter)

Video:
Intel Integrated drivers
ATI.
nVidia.
Matrox
SIS (for integrated videochips)
VIA (for integrated videochips)

At all times, if you have an integrated videochip on your system, check your motherboard maker's site first for updated drivers.

DirectX:
DirectX 9.0c October 2006 update

Close but no cigar - it's for use with a Windows OS. This is a Unix/Linux forum.
