In case you missed my other post on a different thread: Good news is that the database (circa 8 days ago) is back on-line, this website is back on-line, and we are currently working on getting the BOINC alpha and beta projects working again. We are going to hold off starting the public project until we feel warm and fuzzy about the alpha/beta. This may be as long as Monday, but maybe much sooner than that. The bad news is that all our public users are going to have to reattach to the project (i.e. quit and restart to flush their current workunits). Any work done since August 11th will be ignored by our servers and there's a good chance results returned after the 11th might not be accepted either. This is because we rolled back the database to a copy last updated on the 11th, and therefore it is out of sync with any work done after that date. - Matt BOINC/SETI@home |

Is this an official announcement to reset?? If it is, I STRONGLY suggest putting it in the news section of the front page... either that or everyone will have to search through the forum to find this post! |

Now what about those before the 11th ? Last time I saw credit update was about a month ago. Maybe more. Would it be possible to know if we will ever get credited for those WU. Thanks again Regards Marc -.-. --.- -.. -..- . - .-.-. -.- --... ...-- |

Hi All, Matt said, that all workunits we recieved and crunched after August 11, are invalid. They took a Backup Database that they copied on August 11 to re-install. Therefore everything that was prior to August 11th is secure on that Back-up Database. Warm Regards, Rocky |

My posts are never official. I just work here. If we need everybody to reset when the project is back up, will make sure this is posted on the front page, etc. - Matt BOINC/SETI@home |

In summary, is the following the case - all workunits downloaded prior to backup(Aug 11) and results uploaded & reported prior to backup are safe - all workunits downloaded prior to backup but results uploaded and/or reported after backup are now lost - all workunits downloaded after backup no longer valid - all workunits downloaded prior to backup but not yet uploaded & reported are still valid and crunchable regards z |

I already reset mine after reading the OP. There go two dozen units down the drain if the reattaching turns out be unnecessary. Rocky [url=http://boinc.mundayweb.com/seti2/stats.php?userID=1044] |
