Your computer "reported" 20 results, or just "uploaded" them? If they reported, then your machine was able to contact the scheduler. I have had a few results upload, but none of my machines have been able to contact the scheduler to report them since they disabled the feeder to prevent new work distribution. I think they made a mistake and disabled the scheduler, and not the feeder, and that it is showing up improperly on the server status page as well. It seems to me that if only the feeder was disabled, we should still be able to contact the scheduler to report the results after they upload.

Regards, Daniel.

I'm guessing but with the amount of work still to process I think it could take as long as 6 months to clear up but who knows how quick there servers can handle this amount of data.????

Like everyone here I have my share to get through as well at the moment some 34 plus another 4 on my PC as well, Ive only been on BOINC since the start of the month as well

Twill be another day in the land of nodd tomorrow, and I can't see things being fixed in the short term. Reckon they should have had things ready to go from day one, and not tried the peacemeal approach, but I am not in their shoes and wouldn't want to be.

Maybe I'm just not getting something, but I'm seeing a conflict between what the news reports said and what BOINC is doing. I have 5 waiting to upload, and 1 waiting to report. In the meantime I have none to work on. I thought it said everything was working fine on the downloads. I see here toward the end of the thread that lots of other don't have any either. not to sound like a conspiracy theorist or that I'm whining too much, but what's the real deal?

... But I am sitting on three computers, with 80 to 100 units to be uploaded. I do not want more work downloaded. I want To UPLOAD the work I HAVE done. I just have a funny feeling that all this work will GO AWAY.

No fear. Boinc will keep them safe on your computer ready for when they can be uploaded.

And not be credited. I already lost butt loads of credit from the old seti because i forgot my old password. ...

See this thread for details of how to retrieve your s@h-classic details.

And welcome to Boinc and Boinc-s@h,

Good luck,
Martin

Have you read the front page?
"December 9, 2005
We have turned off work distribution for a bit to allow result uploads to catch up. We will be extending the deadline for returning results so that the troubles with the result upload handler will not result in lost credit."

Looking at the upload of one of my computers the upload rate is not great at 0.09KBps

But it seems to loose the connection a lot it gets to about 4% and the dies.

I have just checked my computers and I have 109 units to upload I now have only 3 computers still working on units.
It might be a case where I turn off some computers to let them cool down lol.

P.S. is there any way to get seti home classic units score transferred from the old web site ??

As of this posting I have 45 waiting to upload. I have successfully uploaded 15 since 12:03AM 12/8/05. At that rate it should take 3 more days to completely send the rest of my work units.

To be absolutely honest, I don't really care about the results waiting to upload. The disks here are big enough to hold them easily and I know they will go eventually.

What concerns me far more is that my machines, particularly the 2 fastest, are making little to no attempt to download already allocated WUs. They seem to be giving almost total priority to uploading. :(

I did delve into the source code a little - despite not having programmed seriously in years - in the hope that I might be able to see what is going on and, perhaps, adjust the priorities a little. What I found was the most apalling jumble of C and C++ I have ever seen with virtually no in-line documentation. :(

Be lucky

Neil
