I just had a problem where a WU was 100% completed, but its status was still shown as "running" for a long time. I restarted BOINC and got this error for the WU:

SETI@home - 2004-07-27 12:16:57 - Unrecoverable error for result 09se03ab.22694.9601.897174.168_0 ( - exit code -5 (0xfffffffb))

I haven't found that code on the board, so I am wondering what it means.

I have had WUs show 100% and no "time to completion" for several minutes while the "CPU time" counter keeps going. I'd say it's a glitch in the estimated time calculation. No big deal.
After a few minutes, it really DOES finish on it's own and all is well.

But I don't know what will happen if you interrupt it during that time (as you did by restarting BOINC).

I've had that happen too, and that wasn't it. The CPU timer had stopped, and it has stopped for about 15 minutes. Also, the HSF on my PC varies the fan speed based on what the processor is doing, so crunching two units = fan running, crunching no units = no fan running. The fan wasn't running, which is more evidence that this unit in question wasn't really being worked on.

You can check on how much CPU time is being taken by S@H by looking in the processes tab of task manager. Also if the clock on the processes tab of BOINC next to the WU in question is counting, it is still being actively crunched.

Like I said, the clock had stopped, and had been stopped for a good 15 minutes. I have a Pentium IV with HT, and I think that when I checked the processes, only one WU was being worked on at the time. I am absolutely sure that this WU was not being processed.
