I have a Masters of Science in Security Technologies (MSST) from the University of Minnesota. I also have an undergraduate degree in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy, also from the U of MN.

| Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |

I believe that the discovery of evidence of extraterrestrial life will be the most profound scientific discovery in the history of humanity, which is why I am involved with SETI@Home. Such evidence is needed now more than ever: we need proof that humanity has something to look forward to other than wars, disease, and starvation. This discovery would hopefully have a huge eye-opening effect on everybody, especially those in conflict for religious or other reasons. If we do not find something to pull us all together, something that will make us realize that we are not the center of the universe but merely an outpost, I fear our mindless squabbling will build to a terrible climax.
I also run several other BOINC projects that I believe will lead to improved scientific understanding, such as Climate Prediction dot Net, and Einstein@Home. |
