I've just installed the new BOINC version of SETIATHOME (x86 windows). All good, seems like a straightforward install. Suddenly i find that i don't have enough "seti cred" to post on the forums. If 7700 units isn't enough, what are you left with, the ghosts of goddard, von braun and sagan tallking to each other? As desireable as that might be, cut the rest of us some slack... P.S., If you guys have solved this, ignore my rant. Setiathome r teh pwn. DD Reno |

If you guys have solved this, ignore my rant. Setiathome r teh pwn. There is nothing to resolve. There's just something to understand about the system from your side... Seti BOINC credit is totally different from Seti Classic WU-count. They are not compatible and Classic WUs are not converted into credit. Just as Jim says - we all began from scratch with Seti BOINC. You don't loose your stats of old, however. Have a look into 'your account'. You'll see a section with your Seti Classic numbers. It is frozen at 15 March 2005, as they have to transfer account data with servers down and it takes long. But after Seti Classic will shut down (in December probably - see 'News' on the hompage) all Classic stats will be transferred a last time. :-)= Greybeard Please DO read the BOINC-Wiki (Link in my sig). Its REALLY helpful. All about BOINC: BOINC-Wiki (by Paul D. Buck) |

The reason why you aren't allowed to post on the forums (you can post on this helpdesk though) is that we had some very annoying cases of forum abuse at some stage. We'd really like to enable all and everyone to post even before they have returned their first credit, but due to the behaviour of some users your access is limited a bit during the very first days of participation. I hope you understand that this is needed to protect the system from misuse. |
