Hi

Not sure exactly what this is called but in the old version of Seti@Home You could have the program work all the time even if the screen saver wasn't active at the time so lets say I am like now typing in this message the program is still chomping on data. Is there a way to set the new bonic version to do the same thing? I noticed today that I still have 0 credits and the total time is showing as about 39 minutes or so which I would guess is just the time it's run during my screen saver active.

So is there a way to set it so it runs all the time my system is up and running? It's plenty fast enough to handle it and want to set it up like I did the old version.

Right click on the Boinc icon in your taskbar. Select 'run all the time'.

Also, you can select 'run based on preferences' but first click on 'your account' on this site. Play around with your preferences on your account page. Make sure you don't have the hours it will crunch restricted in some way.

IMPORTANT...when you get done editing your preferences you must click on 'update' in your boinc manager for the changes to take effect. Of course if you have it set as 'run always' then the preferences you have selected don't matter at the moment.

Ok am following up on this. Didn't have alot of time to fully test this out before I went away on vacation, but I have it set to run all the time and it is still only running when the screen saver is active.

Thoughts???

Now I also see the old seti@home client is also running might this be interfereing?

Yes it definitely is!

The two compete for CPU time and Seti Classic wins. Its process priority seems to be a bit higher than that of BOINC.
