When I try to change my password Iget the following error message, any ideas what is wrong?

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: mb_detect_encoding() in /disks/koloth/a/inet_services/boinc_www_https/share/projects/sah/html/user/edit_passwd_action.php on line 27

looks like a database problem, try again in a few days, post back if it's still not working

NB - i've directed 2 other threads here rather than having 3 identical threads about the same issue
