I am running BOINC 4.45 on a workstation with two dual-core Opteron 875 processors under Windows XP-Pro. I am only working on the SETI project and the software recognizes the presence of four processors, but will only run two concurrent results at a time. These use only 50% of my system's resources, regardless of my utilization preferences.

Should the number of SETI results being processed match the number of processors, or is there a preference that I missed to increase the number of concurrent processes?

-->"Your account"

-->"Preferences"

-->"View or edit general preferences"

which brings you here

On that page, check in the "Processor usage" the setting of
On multiprocessors, use at most xx processors

This last value should be set at 4. If not you will need to change it.

Afterwards, in Boinc Manager, under the tab" Projects", select S@H and use the button "Update".

Look if your question is not answered at the Boinc Wiki

Thanks. I always seem to be able to figure out the obscure problems, but miss the simple ones. It was pretty obvious after all, and now I can dedicate three cores to SETI and the remaining processor seems able to handle most everything else. Gotta love multi-core.
