I have set up BOINV and am confused like many others. As I am stupified and don't remember my Seti Classic password I can not transfer over any work units completed. I have lost all the computer time used and the data units completed. I currently have both BOINC and Seti Classic running. As I can not transfer the Seti Classic, do I uninstall Seti Classic and just leave BOINC? Also, if I have my montior set to shut off after 10 minutes that does not effect the BOINC software from working does it? I do not have the system go to standby. Thanks for your time. |

Well, you didn't use the right activation option. On the front page there's item #2: Already have a 'SETI@home Classic' account? We've transferred it, just activate it. So ignore this account and use the link. There's no need for the old password. Running BOTH Seti Classic and Seti BOINC is senseless since Seti Classic then grabs all CPU cycles from Seti BOINC. Simply stop Seti Classic (uninstall isn't needed) and remove its shortcut from the Autostart folder. BOINC itself runs as background task. It therefore does not affect Screensavers in any way. The new Seti screensaver just displays data that the Seti background task processes (and not vice versa like the old one did). |

I know this is true but the problem I have is similar to the first one posted and more. I can't remember the e-mail address I late used to connect to SetiAtHome so that means although I can still be seen in the list of registered users, my 549 or so processed units are effectively lost. I'd like to correct this so can someone help trace my e-mail address? I'm registered under the LogicaCMG group and name listed as Paul Winstone. |

Whoops! Slight mistake in using the reply but the point is there. |

Well, you didn't use the right activation option. On the front page there's item #2: Rripley, thanks for the information. I still need the old Seti Classic Password as I have a new e-mail address. If your e-mail address is not the same, you need to put in your new email address and then enter the old Seti Classic password. That is what I don't remember. It would be great if I could give someone the old e-mail address I had and they could e-mail me the password I used to my new e-mail address. From reading previous questions, I don't think this possible, correct? |

I have a similar problem? After setting up BOINC, i started poking around my stats. I have Seti Classic running for the longest time, upgraded to 3.08 recently on some machines. Either way, results of units completed are not showing on seti at all. It shows 3100 since only March of 2005, well, I am at 3880 and climbing. Where are the results on Seti website? That is a snapshot, because it takes many hours of outage to move the snapshots from Classic to the new one. To see the old system, go to Classic site. My movie https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/502242 |
