I have 3 results waiting to upload, they just wont! The message I get is "Temporarily failed upload of (work number) Backing off for (various lengths of time). Is the server down or something? I couldn't see on the news page that it is, I thought everything was back up! |

Please read the front page news, the server status and the technical news for all that has happened in the past couple of weeks. Since the 30th of August 2005, the Boinc servers went back up. Seti Classic has been taken down for now to accomodate the amount of traffic the servers are getting from all Boinc clients out there. This should be turned back in a couple of days. Since there are a lot of computers out there trying to upload their work and download new work, things will be congested. Have patience for uploading/downloading work. If you don't mind doing some other work at this moment, there's a whole host of other projects out there that you can attach to. Use Boincstats as a guideline. It links to those projects that are Up & Running. Although only Einstein, LHC, SZTAKI, CPDN and Predictor have work at this moment. You can also find great help in the Boinc Wiki. |

3 results!!!? I have 8 now waiting, and I am rapidly running out of work. I only have 3 units left, so I will run out very soon. I do hope the congestion clears soon, I have been trying to connect for over a week! Please read the front page news, the server status and the technical news for all that has happened in the past couple of weeks. |

Okay people, try this: Open Boinc Manager, go to Tools->Options->HTTP Proxy and fill in 128.32.18.173 port 80. Click OK. Go to your Transfer tab and hit update on all work units. They should now go through. |

A good friend will bail you out of jail. A TRUE friend will be sitting beside you saying "Damn! That was fun!" |

I now have nine results waiting to upload. |

Yes, Matt disabled this option on the server. So you'd best now take the proxy option off. You'll get 404 errors in the Messages tab. So for now, go to Tools->Options->HTTP Proxy, delete the number, then uncheck the check next to "Connect via HTTP Proxy" and hit OK. Then update all your projects. |

They should now go through. My BOINC work tab reports two units ready to report. My message log lists them as having successfully uploaded over 12 hours ago (but perhaps the report is GMT). A red message (the last I've received) says one of the files could not be deleted. No comment about the other. What do I do about the discrepancy? |

To report the Seti units, go to your Projects tab in the Boinc Manager. Select the Seti@Home project by clicking on it once. Then press the Update button. Your Messages tab will now say something alike: 02/09/2005 23:17:14|SETI@home|Sending scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi 02/09/2005 23:17:14|SETI@home|Reason: Requested by user 02/09/2005 23:17:14|SETI@home|Requesting 0 seconds of work, returning 2 results 02/09/2005 23:17:22|SETI@home|Scheduler request to http://setiboinc.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_cgi/cgi succeeded (You can copy messages from the Message tab and paste them here. If you want to only put in a selection of messages (please please do so, it's tiring to scroll through long message logs!), click on the start message, hold shift and click on the last message you want included. Then press Copy selected messages and paste them here in an answer window) As for the cannot delete message, I am sure it will be okay once you report the unit back. |

I have a computer that can download new work to do but when it comes to Uploading the results it seems to fail. Each upload attempt shows 100% uploaded and then after several minutes returns to 0% and resets the time until the next upload attempt for that file. Has anyone else run into this? If so, have you been able to work around this problem. I have tried to manually force an upload but with the same result. Thanks |

And which computer would that be? The host ID 1171592? Your top 4 computers have managed to contact the Seti servers today. If the one computer that cannot upload its unit has been doing that way past the deadline of the workunit, just abort the unit. There is a good change the work unit has already been deleted from the database and thus will no longer be taken in. |

And which computer would that be? The host ID 1171592? The computer ID is 1204359. There are 17 work units ready to upload as of this morning. I have tried to update several of them over the last couple of days with no success. Thanks |

Could you copy the entries from the Messages tab from when you try to upload, and paste them in a message here? We might get a clearer picture of what BOINC's trying to do from that. MJ |

If you are using a proxy (Tools->Options->HTTP Proxy), try to disable that option and then upload. |
