We haven't seen an outage in a long time and even with 500000 WU's waiting for validation, UCB is doing great! (Rah, Rah) Thank goodness that this is only a 3 hour outage, so the validation queues shouldn't grow by more than 100,000 during that time!, so all I can say is Great job UCB (Rah, Rah!) Standing Outage Notice: Every Wednesday at 17:00 UTC we have a regular 3-hour outage for database backup (and other system maintenance). Most servers and web site functions will be out during these outages. CAPT Siran d'Vel'nahr - L L & P _\\// Winders 11 OS? "What a piece of junk!" - L. Trying to get noticed? Well how's this for notice. I have 23 computers running or did run boinc. They have been waiting for 7 days to dump and reload work units. every other week this is the same problem. The 'status of servers' says everything is running, if so, why doesn't anything work? I am about to dump some 92 work units down the drain and regain computer power if Bonic doesn't get it's act together! Dr. Dennis Chevalier, FIPC LT.COL. The 'status of servers' says everything is running, if so, why doesn't anything work? It's working, just very, very slowly.
Not that's job security! (Sorry, Doc, the devil made me say it) :) |

The 'status of servers' says everything is running, if so, why doesn't anything work? Tha's ok, I love a good come-back, but this stuff diddn't happen as much with the old SETI client. What did they do, re-invent the wheel without the wheel? doc Dr. Dennis Chevalier, PhD, FIPC, CPPP (Forensic Investigative Psychological Criminologist) The Consortium of Scientific Investigation and Research (CSIR) www.behavioral-sciences.org psychologist@charter.net |

The 'status of servers' says everything is running, if so, why doesn't anything work? ...AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME NUMBER OF WORKUNITS I HAD LAST WEEK WAITING TO BE SENT! doc Dr. Dennis Chevalier, PhD, FIPC, CPPP (Forensic Investigative Psychological Criminologist) The Consortium of Scientific Investigation and Research (CSIR) www.behavioral-sciences.org psychologist@charter.net |

Trying to get noticed? Hi Doctor, On this account you only have two computers listed, so perhaps you have other accounts? Anyway, this afternoon I was able to upload and download work--are you not able to up/download? [Edit]: I just now uploaded four, and downloaded four work units, but I'm not getting credit. |

Dr., not to be presuming anything, but have you looked at the messages as to why you can't upload? There have been a lot of problems, but that seems like a long time not to be able to upload. I don't have as many units as you do, but there has never been more than 24hrs of uploading problems on my end. I demand a refund. Oh wait, I didn't pay to join, I VOLUNTEERED! |

...AND I STILL HAVE THE SAME NUMBER OF WORKUNITS I HAD LAST WEEK WAITING TO BE SENT! This isn't meant to be a wise-guy remark, but while it's the same number of units, are they the same units. I have the same number of workunits I had last week as well, ( a monsterous day's worth or 4) but it's not the same 4 that were there a week ago. It might be due to my tiny little cruncher machine, or it's equally tiny cache of work, but in the last week I haven't had any problems uploading or downloading. Only had 2 errors right after the last outage, system connects, while the servers were coming back up. Otherwise it's been business as usual... granted the credit tally hasn't grown too quicky, but once the Ex-Lax kicks in, watch it grow! |

Yes, the messages only say, scheduling successful; however, nothing happens and the screen saver says no work unit (I.E. Bonic is idle) doc Dr. Dennis Chevalier, PhD, FIPC, CPPP (Forensic Investigative Psychological Criminologist) The Consortium of Scientific Investigation and Research (CSIR) www.behavioral-sciences.org psychologist@charter.net |

It isn't BOINC problem, it is a SETI BOINC problem. Consider re-allocating the CPU power to other BOINC projects which ARE running well. For me, that is Climate and Einstein, but there are another couple of projects as well.
