I have downloaded Boinc and set preferences etc but I still can not get any work units to down load -any ides why this does not work? I had about 650 work units on the old Seti but have not done any for about a year nd a half, this new Boinc does not seem to user friendly at the moment. Here is some of the messages I receive: Thanks in advance

First and third line of the cited messages are the important ones: BOINC can't connect to Seti. Here ist an explanation of the error.

As you were able to download BOINC, there is no general connection problem of this computer. It must be a BOINC specific connection prob therefore.

The reason could be

• a firewall: You'd have to check if your firewall has to be set to let through messages from and to BOINC
  
• a proxy: If the machine is in a network and one of the other machines has the role of a proxy, you have to set the proxie's address. This can be done in TOOLS, OPTIONS, HTTP proxy.
