My credit is not showing up on the site . Anyone know why? Still says 0.00 on profile.

You have not yet completed any workunits. The one that you downloaded has expired.

Hello and welcome Kevin,

The (very good) manual for Boinc is the BoincWiki by Pall D. Buck and Friends.

For information regarding Credits look here!

Hi. This is my first time on this forum. I used to do SETI@home (maybe in 2001). For some reason I stopped. My computer is an old Gateway lemon. I am doing a first build and thought I would try SETI on my lemon again. I just got a no credit and do not understand it. I can't find any other way than this to find out how. I read the Wiki thing and do not understand if it applies to me or not. If I have this situation correctly, the project is done, and I'm the only one that didn't get credit. I don't get this...it's not that I need to brag or something; it is more on the order of feeling that I have done some little thing to help. If I don't see that, then what is the point of volunteering? (self-knowledge really doesn't work, you know?)

Classic Acct. Updating

If you had an account in the original 'SETI@home Classic' project as of 15 March 2005:
We've transferred your account, including profile and team information.
You must now activate the account.

... and enter your SETI@home Classic password
If you don't have your password, you won't be able to activate your account; instead, just create a new account.
Semper Eadem
So long Paul, it has been a hell of a ride.

Park your ego's, fire up the computers, Science YES, Credits No.

Your result was invalid. There is no error message, so I don't know the reason other than it didn't pass the validation step. The reasons could be many. Overheating, overclocking, etc...

Sorry I don't have a more definitive answer, but lets wait and see how your other units turn out.

Hi, I have the same question, the BOINC Synergy results website (bless it) shows 1808.40 credits for me, and updates in line with the explanations given for how the validation process works, but the "Your Account" page here at seti@home shows 0.0.

Interestingly, group membership shows an inverse relationship. SETI@home does show me as a member of a group, but BOINC Synergy doesn't.

I deduce from the above evidence that group membership info and credit info may be stored/forwarded by different systems, but would like to understand why seti@home can provide BOINC Synergy with up to date credit info, yet isn't able to update itself?

Greybeard? Anyone?

You don't have any computers attached to the account you are posting from. My guess would be that you have two accounts set up.

Oh my!

First of all: No, teeps, you have not at all the same question as kevinmfidler...

Now to your prob:
Seti BOINC isn't the Seti application you used to know. Meanwhile there have been done some things, y'know...

The old Seti application now is known as Seti Classic. It is still running and you can find its HP here.
But it will be shut down within the next months. Nobody exactly knows when.

Berkeley developped BOINC which is a DC platform. You download an install it, then you can attach to several projects of which Seti (aka Seti BOINC) is one. Note that the old Seti programm won't work with BOINC. As soon as you are attached to a project BOINC loads the actual client automatically.

Please follow the steps that are given on the Homepage.

D'oh! You're quite right, I remember now, I had difficulty because of system outages, and knowing nothing about how BOINC works, I re-registered thinking that outage had caused my registration to fail. I see now that the account names are different, that explains everything. Thanks!

How often we only notice the things we look for and miss the obvious entirely...
