I would like to welcome all users to this project, I hope we will have great fun with it. I should warn you: we are BOINC newbies, and the project is being developed at my home laptop which may not be online all the time, so if the project website and/or scheduler is unresponsible, it means I am not at home. The project web-site is a mix of classic BOINC project website system and my new PerlBOINC website system. I will try and replace as much as possible of the old website, while still keeping it compatible with classic BOINC database system. There are no applications now; it will stay as it is until my coleague will get a hunch of BOINC api and we will be able to sign the applications correctly :) If you need any specific information, don't hesitate to ask. ============ That Laptop should be able to handle 50,000 user's easily ... :/ |

That Laptop should be able to handle 50,000 user's easily ... :/ I'm not sure about 50,000, but I'm sure that I will not open it to more users now until it has been confirmed that application follows at least the basic BOINC guidelines and does not crash now and then. I do not want to crash BOINC clients on the PCs whose users do not know about the possibility of non bug-free code under pre-alpha. But really, I hope everything will go ok, and we will step out of pre-alpha in a week, and increase the number of users. PrimeGrid Administrator / BOINC PHP coder |

@ poorboy (Rytis), ShuR i'll be more than happy to help you out, especially since you are taking over Pirates vacated "space." so, do us scuttelbutts from Rusty and th' cap'tn ship get preference tomorrow on account creation day? ;) good luck with this project! happy crunching Micah S@h Berkeley's Staff Friends Club |

@ poorboy (Rytis), ShuR Actually, I am Rytis ;) That's just the non-existing possiblity to change the user names... Rytis is my real name, and ShuR is a nickname, but I feel real name would look better as the project admin. And poorboy just posted my message from my messageboards. I am alone there, yet :) As for sign up bonus... I see no way how I could influence the account creation process to limit "outsiders", or to give priority to ex-Pirates - first come, first served. Actually, I am thinking about pre-register list like Einstein had at the start. Then we will see :) For the good part, I have just recompiled the application, it seems running ok with WU that take less than second to complete :) The file uploader (seems) to be running well, so I think we will have work at the early start. all sounds good, though i presume WUs of less than a sec won't ever be seen ;) i did mistake the identites because PoorBoy did copy your message from the message boards. I'd be happy to help in any way that i can, but i do not know perl, so about the best i can offer is hardware to host/hold info or test on. again, good luck with your endeavors happy crunching Micah S@h Berkeley's Staff Friends Club |
