When I login here, it affects the beta cookie and vice versa. There are cookies for both projects in the browser cookie file but they affect eachother. I'm not sure if it's a browser issue (using Mozilla 1.7.5) |

Same happens with my IE 6.0 - I'm logged in @ SETI (official) through the cookie - I open the SETI Beta home.php and login there (with cookie enabled) - I click "reload" in the official SETI home.php and it requests the key again, the cookie doesn't work anymore. So it isn't a browser issue but the cookies somehow get confused by the login scripts. The problem is reproduceable. ___________________________ I guess I know why it doesn't happen to everyone : It happens with this URL : http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/home.php It doesn't happen with this one : http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/home.php ___________________________ I verified this and it is a good workarround : Switching the bookmarks for the official home.php to setiathome while using setiweb for the beta fixes the problem in both browsers. |

It stell asks the login ID on beta now and then, so something still seems to be wrong with the cookie. It doesn't affect the non-beta oneanymore though. ___________ @Heffed : you're one of those who are affected by this (unconfirmed) bug : http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/forum_thread.php?id=14110 do you happen to know what you did to make your profile disappear but still have the profile flag in the database? |

Reason seems to be the sibdirectory. The cookie is set to /beta but the login requests the cookie for / I added the cookie for / to Mozilla and since then it didn't prompt for the ID input anymore. |

@Heffed : you're one of those who are affected by this (unconfirmed) bug : The profile was transferred from my classic account. I felt the profile was no longer relevent, so I deleted it when I started BOINC beta. It successfully deleted the information, but still seems to think I have a profile. I figured it was just a beta glitch and thought it would get straightened out eventually, but it's been about two years now. ;) |
