I lost a WU today when I reset the project even though it had cleared the manager. Guess I should have checked to see if it was already counted.

Any ideas? Thanks.

one, you might wanna send that message to Paul Buck. I haven't seen that one before and it might help him/others.

Two, I don't understand why you would reset Seti.

Three If you uploaded the result, and THEN reported the WU then It's not lost.

Four, I don't know if I understand exactly what you're asking.

The place to start is the root of the Wiki

Then read down the page and use the BOINC Messages link to find the list of messages, read down to "P" and there is an explanation to "PERS_FILE..."

Hopefully, you will start there ... saves us typing ... if the explanation is not enough, let us know and maybe we can fix that ... :)

Oh, and watch out for "documentation cooties" ...

Thanks, Tony. I keep getting this message so I finally reset. Previously it went to unhandled exceptions, but somehow I've cleared that up. Now I just have to resolve why its not allowing the program to run when other users are logged on because the times always coincide with another user logging in.

Thanks, Paul. Thanks too, FuzzyLogic.

As long as the WU restarts, this message is harmless.

I sort of remember during the installation process that it asked the question whether it should run under other users or not or as a service. I'm not sure how you change this now. It may be in your general preferences.

Yes, Indeed Stokey Bob. During the Installation process you will see a prompt screen asking if you want to install this as a:
Single User
Shared
Service

It sounds like you want either "Shared" or "Service". Exit Boinc manager, rerun the installation process, select either option(probably Shared). and restart the program. You shouldn't lose any work, but If you're worried then back up the Boinc folder.
