The Splitters Have Stopped Splitting.

Philmore and Milkyway have not been Splitting since about this time Friday afternoon. Galileo Finished Splitting its last tape then loaded another one but has not begun to Split it. The number of Work Units Ready to Send are going down. Its like 311,000 Work Units ready to send right now. If one of the Splitters does not start Splitting again there will be no more work units in less than 1 day.

Running but not Splitting. We will see. Maybe they automatically will Load another Tape to Split. If this is a Manual Operation and someone has to Physically Load another tape into them then we are in trouble cause no one will be in till 8:00AM Tuesday most likely.

I noticed that yesterday and then at other times they were all running. I had difficulties uploading and then got no work from S@h at all so i exited. I just turned the program back on and it did give me 1 wu to crunch. :)

edit: Now I have two, back in business!

Aparently, they are not tapes that are being split - they are disk images of tapes. I raised this a while back and there are multiple images ready to split, and the process is automatic.

Since the splitter move, the 'last block split' been intermittant on one splitter and I think non-existant on the other two.
But I have been watching the ready to send counter, ant it seems to be increasing at the rate I expect if 3 splitters are going.

There is still 325,000 WUs available for download. SETI isn't out of work - yet.

The Work Units Available are going up now. Must be an error on the Page that is not listing how many Blocks Split or the Activities of the individual Splitters.

Hi

Which version of BOINC are you running and do you have multiple projects? There were some issues around the scheduler in 4.43 so if you have this version and are running multiple projects try using version 4.44 on the download page.

The Splitters Have Stopped Splitting.

When the splitters started again on Thursday there was 60k or something ready to send. While "Last block split" never changed till it now doesn't display anything, the amount of ready to send have steadily increased, so very likely just forgot to reconfigure the status-page after db-move.

Since apparently USA is having a holiday on Monday, wouldn't expect this to be fixed before Tuesday. ;)

Despite the lack of last block read counters, the splitters seem to be doing just fine. Around 100,000 new WUs have gone into the ready queue in the past 12 hours.
Looks like the new hardware is doing well, the last time there was a splitter problem, the 3 could only just keep ahead of demand - it took 4-5 days to get back to 500K. Looks like it will be under 2 days now.

I had to re-attach to all 3 of my projects. All is well now and am using 4.44.

Right now most is offline except the splitters - which doesn't have any tapes to work with, of course... :)

What makes you think things are off-line? The Assimilator is, and has been for a few hours.
The splitters are (I repeat) fine except for the missing block counters. This is obvious from the ever increasing ready-to-send count which is rapidly approaching it's usual 500k mark.
'Tapes' is a misnoma, they are actually images of the tapes in disk files.

Hi

I´m for sure the splitters are working.
The ready to sent are increaseing the hole day.
Only the status page is a way behind.

I must be looking at a different Status page ;)
The one I look at was last updated 3 minutes ago "[As of 29 May 2005 21:00:08 UTC]".
_Everything_ is working excepy for the Assimilator which doesn't affect issuing or receiving work at all.
