A longtimer in Seti Classic, I have joined BOINC a week ago. I have over 900 in credit now, but I do not exist anywhere - not in any stats, not in the country list, not in the list of the team I joined... Isn't that weird?

Not really weird, see the thread "Update the Technical News and/or Home Page Please", and "Bug in stats file!!!" Look for posts from Matt lebofski, and Bobb2. it'll explain the stats issue. Additionally, the average time from when the WU is first sent out until the last successful one is returned to seti is 8 to 9 days. You should see credits from roughly 1/2 of the WUs you recieved a week ago.

does this help?

BOINC is different that Classic where as soon as you return a result your numbers go up.

First of all, the results are now validated against each other to ensure consistency. This is done to validate the science but also has the intended side effect to eliminate people that "clone" results to artificially inflate their scores at the expense of the science.

Second, once the work is validated the granted credit will take a little time to propagate to the statistic sites, even longer now that there is a minor "glitch" in the publication of the export files.

Once you get into the "flow" you will see the numbers climb ...

@KPX,

As Paul said, your stats are coming up.

Tony, Paul, Thierry, ...

Thank you all for the explanations! You were right, I was a bit impatient. I think the Admins could have prevented this puzzling learning experience by putting a simple line into the FAQ: "After you join, wait a week for the stats to appear."

But, thanks again, people like you make me feel good about joining this project!
