I am crunching for CP.net and Seti@home.

I adjusted my resource share for Seti to 50% and have still 100% at CP.
When this adjusment was done I noticed that Seti@home ended up on one third (33.33%) and accordingle two thirds (66.67%) for CP. Aren't those very strange or odd figures? Or am I missing something here. Shouldn't it be 25/75?

set seti at 25 and CP at 75! if you set a variable at 150% THE YOU WILL GET 33%...

What happens is the "pool" becomes 150 - those 150 is now 100%. 50 of the 150 is 33.33%

(50/150)*100=33.33

so, if you want the figures you set up on the projects to represent percentages, make sure that the sum of all of them is 100

It is a bit confusing that the default share is 100, it is too easy to interpert that as a percentage. Maybe they should have put the default at 1000 to avoid the confusion and still have plenty of room to raise and lower it.

Its learning by trying.
With the 4.2x clients you see after connecting the sheduler the percentage of each project.
So when its not the correct one change it in preferences and hit update.

It makes sense when you realize that the values you set are not in the same database -- for example, I crunch SETI, and LHC, and Einstein. The value for SETI is on the SETI servers in Berkeley, the LHC value is on the servers at CERN, and I'm not even sure where Einstein lives.

The numbers are all in one place on the client, which is why it can figure the percentages. Trying to let the client reset the projects is probably too messy.

You have set up the resources used by both apps to be a total of 150%. 50% of that total is 1/3(33%) and l00% of that total is 2/3(66%). That's how those resource numbers were figured.

Using a dual processor Mac G5 usually ran 2 SETI WU at a time. With their recent server problems I signed up for Einstien, but now the G5 is crunching 2 SETI and 2 Einstien simultaneously. Resource share is set to 200 for SETI and 10 for Einstien. Any thoughts? Will Einstien turn it's self off after a while?

When I have this problem I see 3 or 4 instances running. Usually it fixes itself in an hour or two as it makes its switch. It is not a bug, it is a feature ... :)
