Hi, The computation of this Wu lasted 3.15 min after I upgraded to Boinc 4.16. No error message in boinc. Can someone explain what happened ? I allow 4 GB of disk space for Boinc and no more than 800MB are generally used. http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/result.php?resultid=31770248 Cheers... Arnaud |

This WU had a "SETI@Home Informational message -9 result_overflow" message. This message indicates the software has detected a hughe number of signals. This can be the case when inside the WU signals are coming from earth interferences, most of the time strong signals. If this occurs, the software stops after a while crunching the WU and results in a -9 results overflow message. As for the "No heartbeat from core client" message, it should indicate the application has found the Boinc is not running anymore. I had this to sometimes but could not find any reason why it happened. |

And these and the other 90 odd messages are in the FAQ now ... :) and as I get new ones, I guess as to the reasons why. Even better, if you figure something out on a message you can post a comment in the FAQ that if it proves out we will promote! Keep the cards and letters coming. |
