where do i find the project urls i have no clue where to get them

The URL here is 'http://setiathome.berkeley.edu'. The URL should be included in the email that is sent to you from the various projects, each one will have a different URL.

I don't know about the person who originally asked, but *I* wanted this information at a time when the email in question wasn't handy. It should really be explicitly mentioned in the instructions at http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/download.php or http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu/sah_participate.php

I agree with Claudia, it should be available somewhere at http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.edu, unless some unknown reason.

The URL for the project is the same as the URL for the SETI Classic home page. If you need the project URL for the SETI BOINC project you would also need your account ID and therefore the email you received from SETI BOINC when you opened your account.

The Url is not secret. *rofl* And it is not hidden. Every BOINC Project has a project Url, which normaly is the URL of the projects main page. SETI@home has two main pages, so it should be the only project having two project URLs at the moment. ;)

And as Bill explained, there is no usage of this URL without the account ID. But this is not the first question about the project URL. I never really understand why it is asked. Do people save the ID at a different place as the URL and then didn't find it or is the account mail so difficulty to understand?

When I need the project authenticator, I usually get it from the account_* file for the project, however, the file name has the url embedded in it...

Jens, thank you for your answer.

Let me explain: since I receive my account mail the project URL has changed once, so I can get my account ID from that mail, but not the present URL. Once I found it, I wrote it to a file, but the first time I connected a new PC to the project (some time after the change) I couldn't find it easily.

You can also get it in a new email. Log out of the web site, and then go to the login page and ask for a new email with your password.

The project URL's are right inside your BOINC GUI client.

- Open up the BOINC GUI client on your computer

- select the "Projects" to get a list of the projects you are connected to.

- Right-click on the project and select "Web Site".

This will launch your browser and send you the project's web site.

Am I missing something ?

Your particular "Account Keys" are hidden somewhere. Keep them in a text file and back it up with all of the other important data on your computer.

I believe you are, yes.

This comes up when someone is setting up an existing account on a new client. If you are installing the software from the website, there's no reason for the website instructions not to say "now fill in this project URL". It's an easy change that would make some people's lives easier. It's not obvious that the project URL is the seti main page if you don't already know that it is. I though it might be some specific sub-page.

If this is what you are doing, setting up a new client, the information is, obvioiusly, not yet in your client.

And as someone else noted, project URLs change. Yes, you can request a new notification e-mail, but why is it so difficult to give the project URL on the installation web page?
