Profile: Ronald "Red" Jeffers

Personal background
I am a long time IT security geek. I am currently a Master Level Security Architect working for a global IT Services company. I've spent 20 years of my life working as an intelligence agent for the US Army. Then another 20 years working in IT consulting, including 10 years with IBM and 6 years with Hewlett-Packard.

I'm looking forward to retirement. My retirement will consist of completing my PhD., writing a book and fishing. I recently moved to a beautiful island in Texas.

I've been a member of SETI@Home for much longer than shown on my page. I believe I started with the program when I was working at the NASIC at Wright-Patterson AFB in 2001. My nickname then was SGTRed. I had several Linux servers running the community SETI program from my basement in Oakwood, Ohio. Unfortunately, too many moves and a seven month hiatus to volunteer for the Hurricane Katrina Recovery Project, resulted in a break from the project.

I'm glad to be back, supporting one of the most important project in BOINC.
