Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
First of all: Sorry for my English.
I run SETI@home because, since I was a little child, always wondered me the though of making contact with another sentient species out of this world. I would like to work to make it possible someday, but because of my lack of preparation in astrophysics, engineering and computation, the only thing I can do at the moment is to lend my PC.
It will be very sad, if there's someone sending messages outthere, that we can't hear him because we though It would be a waste of time and resources to point our ears to the sky.
Making contact with someone out there will be a great achivement for humans as a race. Not only because it would tell us that we're not alone, also because it will bring us hope about our future. Maybe that could teach us that there's a path for humanity other than out autodestruction.
My only suggestion about this project is the following: NEVER GIVE UP.
Thanks for everything. |
