Personal background
I am 49 years old, a retired army helicopter pilot, interested in the space program, the stars and the search for ET Life. I own a telescope and never cease to marvel at the beauty of what can be seen in the night sky. I enjoy participating in the seti@home program and hope to add more networked computers to the search soon.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I do believe in ET Life, as to how we will discover it or it us, remains to be seen. When we speak of ET Life most of us think about a being walking up to us and trying to comunicate. However, ET Life can also be organisms found on a planet or celestial body surface or subsurface. The possibilities are endless.
I do feel we should, if we haven't already, transmit a beacon to others. Just and intelligent signal that indicates a source worthy of investigation.
I run seti@home to try and help in the search.
I think the program is a great concept for maximizing resources and miniumizing expense.
It would be great to see Hubble photos of the areas we are searching, in specific the areas where there are signals that bear further investigation.

Question: Do we need to create a program to study the light spectrum from
Hubble photos the way we are doing radio signals? Could it be done? Might we find Laser communication signals??
