Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I started to run Seti in 2002. It just seemed like a fun kind of tech thing to do. Since then I have been on and off as far as running the program. I think Star Trek and Carl Sagan planted the seed and the sight of the Space Science Trailers up top of Centenial Ave in Berkeley just seemed to be saying "Hey look up, look at the stars, what do you think?"

When I need to get right sized I just look up at the stars.

I doubt that there are others like us out there. I certainly hope not. We don't show such a great deal as far as intelligent life in the universe. Maybe someday we will grow into that.

It is in our nature to explore. I hope exploring space will help us all to realize how small and insignificant we are in the universe and how, at the same time we are so very very special and should care for one another.
