Personal background
I am working with computers since I am 12, started with a Sinclair ZX-81, then Amstrad CPC 464. PC and so on...
Now I work as a Support Specialist for IBM pSeries / RS/6000 in germany. This SETI project is amazing and I am a member with my other user since 1999. Still no Alien found but I guess there is someone out there.
I am married now, going to get the second child and we are totally happy.
I am interested in Computers, Cars (old cars and also new cars), Photography, Digital imaging, Radio Controlled cars and much more... I am a very creative person, doing some Airbrush, drawing and much more like that.
Well, thats it so far.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
1) Yes I think there is some extraterrestrial Life out there. I guess in the next 50 years the humans will perhaps find some hints about life out there. THe benefits will perhaps be, that we can learn on how Life can be possible is a different environment. Danger, hmmmm, whatever will happen... will happen
2) Well, I don't know if a beacon will be "translated" by a different Life form but a beacon could at least be a start. We should send something like, there is Life on planet earth...
3) I rund SETI because it is a interesting project and a amazing idea to gather millions of computers together to track down one common proof of life.
