Personal background |
Greetings to one and all.
My name is Daniel S. Collins, 23, of Birmingham, Alabama. I am in Hotel Management for the Pickwick Hotel and Conference Center on Birmingham's Southside Entertainment/Historic District. It seems to me that since our computers are connected via LAN (T1) connection to the internet, that it is not very efficient to have our computers stay idle for so much of the time. It is with efficiency and my love of Space, Science, and our future that I believe that our company should use our own computers in their downtime (off hours) to be useful for such a noble and momentus effort.
If I myself had a computer at home, I would love to have SETI@HOME there as well. Until then, my best wishes, and good luck to all those working towards this common goal. I hope everyone has had a great holiday season and God Bless America!

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
SETI@HOME is a project that although it has been operational for a vast period of time, it is still in its infancy. The problem is not that it is not getting enough attention in itself. The problem is that its resources should be expanded and infrastructure increased. By developing the SETI@HOME program, not only does this help increase resources for SETI, but it also gives everyone a chance to say... "You know, I helped do that..." It makes you reach in the back of your mind to think, "What If?" instead of ... "I wonder when.."
A heart felt compliment goes from myself to those who have engineered the SETI@HOME program. |
