Personal background

Well, I´m a German.

That´s not all folks so you can read through. I´m 30 years old, Network Engineer and a proud member of the Seti group: The Knights Who Say Ni!

It looks like I´m fitting right into that bunch of Monty Python fans. As I prefer to laugh about various things(mostly silly things which didn´t mean I´m silly or I used to be silly hmmm well, OK, sometimes I really use to be silly but what did you expect from someone who likes Monty Python movies?) I found something like a second home there.

If you´ll ever plan a visit to our site here´s the way to it: http://www.knightswhosayni.net/

I´m interested in Sci-Fi since I was a young boy (ok, I believe I´m male) and as I found this Seti thing I had no chance. I had to join and search ET.

Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home

First of all I don´t believe we´ll find something. I really HOPE we´ll find a signal so if hoping is living I should be alive. That doesn´t mean we had to stop searching I´ll do forever if the project will run so long. I´m pretty sure that something is out there (say, do you really believe I´d running Seti if I doesn´t believe that there is something or someone out there?).

The nice side-effect it has is the group or team feature. You can find various new friendships or learn something about hardware in such a group. (please remember that I´m a really proud member of "The Knights Who Say Ni!" who can be found right here: http://www.knightswhosayni.net/)

Should we send a signal?

Well of course. If they´re really out there and they are as interested in science as we are they´ll not harm us but..... ok, no risk, no fun! Maybe there is a possibilty that they even know our earth and call it "mostly harmless" and maybe we´ll be destroyed by the Vogons soon due to a galactic built of an interstellar highway. So the future will bring the knowledge to us I think. Let´s see it in this way: if we never try to find something we´ll never know.

Regards and Ni!
