Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think that it's really improbable that we are the only forms of life. I don't know if using SETI@home we'll discover it.
But observing what the human kind is doing to OUR planet, i suggest the other living being hiding as well as possible.
We are too selfish and interested in economics speculations to do well to other creatures.
I use SETI@home because a dream that i did time ago suggested me to do so (it's true, trust me), but i'm worried about what can happen after the discovery of another lives.
Humans should transmit a message if they can, like this "ok, we are troubled people and we wish we could use you all for our interests or collaboration (in the best view). But be careful because we are destroying slowly our planet for money and we don't know what can happen to you if you let us to find you".
For me it's the truth. Too sincere? for me not, but i understand it's unuseful for our interests.
But we must warn other lives. We are too dangerous for them.
Thinking about the hypothesis of a form of life more powerful and potentially dangerous of us, maybe they would destroy us or,because they are more intelligent, they leave us alone in our problems and mistakes.
i don't know of course.
i know that SETI@home can't guarantee me what will happen if we discover another lives, but it would be really better.
I've finished.
