Personal background
An 18 year veteran of Heavy Fire Rescue in both Springdale, CT (Firefighter of the Year 1978) and Benbrook, TX, he subsequently serves as a Lt. Colonel in the US Air Force Auxiliary where he has served 24 years as Deputy Group 6 Commander and the Emergency Services / Homeland Security Officer of the Texas 129th Airborne Search and Rescue (Ft Worth Senior) Squadron based in Ft Worth, TX. He is a Wing Commanders Commendation recipient as well as a NASA Commendation recipient for his efforts in Task Force Columbia TX03-03 recovery operations with a master rating in both Airborne Observation and Ground Team Operations. In addition he served as an Aerospace Industry Advisor to the Army Aviation Systems Command during both Desert Shield and Desert Storm being a co-recipient of the Certificate of Achievement from the US Army Central Command, 22nd Support Command.
