Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
To think we are alone is absurd. Countless stars, planets and possibilities. Sheer probability says there's at LEAST one species at our technological level if not greater, so if we're looking, why wouldn't they be looking? With our technology advancing as it is (anyone remember 9.6k modems?) I think within the next 50 to 100 years we will find extraterrestrial life. I believe we shouldn’t advertise out presence just yet. We have our own issues here on this world to worry about keeping relations with someone else. I run seti in hopes that someday we can identify where another intelligent race is so we have a purpose to journey into space, besides increasing our own territories.
