I'm an agnostic humanist scientist. I am a huge fan of Carl Sagan. I work as a Registered Nurse but I'd much rather be writing or developing works to benefit humanity. I am married and have two little genius children.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I watched Contact again recently and I was reminded of the fact that although there is statistically likely other intelligent life out there, our governments are more interested in fighting wars and promoting their own agendas than unlocking the mysteries of the universe. I might as well use my extra CPU cycles to assist this effort. If we don't look for extra-terrestrial intelligence, I fear we may never unify as a species. I want us to find a reason to venture to the stars before we manage to destroy ourselves, to borrow from Carl Sagan.
