Personal background
Hoo boy, distribute my info for all to see? Awww, why not? What's the worst that could happen :-)
I'm 18/m from the Seattle area, and a firm believer in the worst that could happen. However, I'm also inclined to believe equally in the best that could happen. Does that leave me back with nothing? Not quite...

I'm a complete geek, but then, you probably surmised that by now. I'm a total video game addict, I love everything about them, and could probably go on about them forever. RPG, FPS, SSS, RTS, take your pick. I'm also fond of anime, which I suppose puts me in a very mainstream category with a lot of adolescent boys. So be it. CPUs are a dual 1GHZ PowerMac G4, Powerbook G3 266, a PowerMac G3 400, and a Pentium III 450.

I'm also an avid musician, I play jazz clarinet and classical oboe, but only if nobody's around. Something about music just gets me goin'.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I think extraterrestrial life had better exist. Because if it doesn't people are going to start wondering how worthwhile an effort space travel is, and that would be a real shame, because I firmly believe that expanding our universe beyond this little round rock we live on will enable us to see each other as Russian or Israeli or Bohemian or Japanese, but as humans. The day we make contact with aliens is the day we will come together as a race.

Now when is that exactly? Well according to "Star Trek", it won't happen for another 60 years, however, if you ask Carl Sagan, we should have made contact only a few years ago, and then there's the MIB who know the extraterrestrials have been here all along. If you ask me, I expect contact any time now. Its not overdue yet, but we certainly don't have long to wait. I run the SETI@home project because I'm the impatient type.
