Personal background
I'm currently a Sophomore at Michigan Tech, majoring in Computer Science. Computers are pretty much my life, and I love to Program.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
I believe that there is extraterrestrial life, and that it probably won't be found in my lifetime. I also believe that the extraterrestrial life will be hostile, and by contacting them, they may end up destroying our planet, and existance as we know it would be over. If other intelligent life exists, they are probably doing the exact same thing as us, trying to discover if there is others out there, in the infinite space. If other life doesn't exist, It seems like an awful waste of space...
I run SETI@home on my 1 GHz AMD T-bird Server, and on my Althon 3200+ XP system running Linux (Clocked 11*210 instead of 11*200). Even though I believe that life will not be discovered during my lifetime, I still like to think that the small amount of work my computers can do during the day will eventually help out in the future.
