Personal background
I'm a 25 year old male from Huntsville, AL. I do telephone tech support for DirecTv. I spend most of my free time (when I get some) on my computer. My computer spends all of its' free time running SETI@Home. I think it would be so cool if one of the units I processed acctually turned out to contain evidence of extra terestrial inteligence.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Does life exist on other planets? I don't know, but that is why we're all here isn't it. To find out if there is. If so, would making contact be good or bad? That's an even tougher question. There are so many possibilities and variables to consider with such a question. But the toughest part is that it could be both at the same time. I don't think we should be transmitting and asking for others to come here. I just don't think the planet as a whole is ready for that yet. There may yet be another method of communicating and/or traveling in space that we need to discover before we can really look to make contact. I guess I started in this because I'm curious. I prefer to know I tried everything possible to discover the truth without jumping to any conclusions. As far as suggestions for the project go, I'm still too new at this to really have any suggestions yet. As long as they keep giving me the data to process, I'll keep processing it.
