Personal background |
I'm a voice and data network systems consultant living in Athens, GA USA. I've always been scientifically and technically minded, and this naturally led me into the field. I studied CS and AI at the University of Georgia, and have attained several professional certifications, but most of my knowledge is self-taught. When I'm not working I enjoy getting away from the city and going hiking. I document my trips on film whenever possible and enjoy sharing the beauty of nature with friends and family. |
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home |
I have always firmly believed that the Universe is bound to hold a plethora of life aside from our own. When you examine the numbers behind it, the possibility is too overwhelming to discount. Seti@Home combines my belief in life beyond our planet with my interests in science and technology. Although I think it's unlikely that we'll make contact with another intelligence in my lifetime, I do think it's inevitable. In the mean time this is my way of contributing to science and technology, while feeding my interests in astronomy and cosmology. |
