I am a Kiwi (New Zealander) and a long time computer user, since before many current Seti supporters were around lol (punch-cards hehe)
I have four children (pride of my life) and am a liberal and a romantic.

I run Seti@home because I see that long term we need assistance from more advanced 'beings'. Thats not to say I'm an alien worshipper, just I see the logic in there being other civilisations out there, and some must be benevolent, and way way ahead of us. We need their help in the future, and the first step is finding them.
Also there is the risk of less than benevolent neighbours: perhaps knowing before we meet up, will have pluses for us.
