Profile: Michael Hoffmann

Personal background
Aloha!
I am a guy from Saxony-Anhalt, Mid-Germany and fate took me to Bavaria [you know, that's near Germany ;)]. Here now I serve as a desk officer for the federal services.
However, from a scientific view, living here is quite interesting.
I am 30 years old now and at the moment single, taking care of two kittens.
Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home
Actually, I stumbled upon BIONIC a long time ago. A friend of mine was into the SETI project already.
Sharing computing capacity is a useful thing, because besides looking for extraterrestrial life, it helps us understanding of signal transmission etc., helps us fighting severe diseases and a lot more.

What would be really nice is if one could know how and how much the own contribution to the project lead to seizable results (like Einstein@home does).
