Thoughts about SETI and SETI@home:
I'm fascinated by the whole field of astronomy. Its the age old question of 'Is there anybody out there' ? that drew me to Seti@home. I have to admit I do get puzzled reading all the message boards when it comes to technical specifications of servers, etc but it seems a fun thing to do.
This is in a way my contribution to the exploration of space. It's as far as I will ever go.
Who knows if this project will ever succeed in finding the elusive message or signal?. I for one believe that the implications of detecting a signal of artificial, intelligent origins would have the most postive, profound effect on mankind. Time will tell.
